The History of Searchless with Techolony™
In 2023, two technology professionals based out of Toronto, Canada; one specialising in human-machine communication, the other with a decade in startups, set out to transform hiring. With AI advancements, they saw an opportunity to deliver a scalable, high-quality interviewing platform benefiting both companies and candidates and in just 18 months, they rigorously built and tested their solution.
Through a chance introduction early in 2024, Searchless and Techolony set out to achieve one goal : to combine AI technology with recruitment excellence.

What is Searchless with Techolony™ ?
Searchless with Techolony™ is the trading name for a strategic collaboration between two companies - Searchless and Techolony. It has resulted in SmartHire™ - a combination of our proprietary AI-powered interview platform with a shortlisting and assessing service that reduces the workload on hiring managers and internal recruitment teams.
How does SmartHire benefit me as a hiring manager or internal recruiter?
By using SmartHire™, we are going to reduce your workload and costs significantly because a thorough interview process can be carried out on large volumes of candidates simultaneously and can naturally reduce the pipeline of candidates. You will also get clear assessments of the candidates and have access to their video interviews rapidly.
How much does it cost?
There is a monthly subscription service fee and a nominal charge of 3 or 4% per role depending on which service you choose. You can learn more in our pricing section on this landing page.
What roles or skills does this service cover?
Due to the way this AI is configured, it has a wide use case and is not limited by industry or role type.
What about AI bias that we all read about?
Our service doesn't just avoid bias, we actually reduce bias: our blend of systems and process decouples the appearance, accent, communication style, and any other factors that could result in discrimination from the evaluations of specific skills. A human can't possibly do this perfectly, no matter how hard they attempt to do so. Searchless with Techolony™ can, because we've hardcoded it into our technology and embedded it into our recruitment service.
How does your product and service differentiate between other video platforms
Firstly, our product is a conversational interface so will pose questions based on the previous answers provided. This is similar to a human face-to-face interview and enables candidates to articulate themselves verbally in their own unique way.
We combine this with the ability to have fixed questions that relate to your company or departmental pre-requisites. We strongly believe this is far better than other products with fixed interview questions.
SmartHire™ also offers advanced assessments of the interviewee performance which helps hiring managers and internal recruiters to make effective decisions.
What type of reporting does the service provide?
We can provide reporting from the platform which is supported by our own teams assessments of the candidates as well. For SmartHire 360 customers you also get weekly reports from our governance team which details the progress of the hiring.
How secure is the data?
Video data is encrypted at rest, we harden our API endpoints, and use KMS+IAM for cloud security. So, very secure and only retained for the period of the job position being open or for longer if required for audit purposes. The data is secured in UK data centres.
